#008 - Oregon Trail Off-Road
In this episode I chat to Jason Hamasu from Oregon Trail Off-Road (Now Outlaw Expeditions). Jason’s inquisitive mind and love of documentary films lead to the inception of ‘Oregon Trail Off-Road’, the group’s goal was to retrace the historic Oregon Trail. Jason and his crew achieved their goal earlier this year. Their 44 day expedition took them on a challenging journey through 6 states; Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas and finally Missouri. Their route followed the original wagon trail set out by pioneers in the early 1800’s as closely as possible. As far as the team know, the trail has not been traced in its entirety since it’s decline after the introduction of the first transcontinental railroad in 1869.
In the podcast we discuss the inception of the trip, team dynamics in the all male team, why they wanted to film the expedition and what they have planned next. Unfortunately the Skype connection broke off half way through our chat so the flow of the conversation was broken, hopefully this isn’t too noticeable in the final edit.
